Andrew Brinker acquired his interest in the Civil War after a trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in May of 2003. After that trip his Great Grandmother told him of
his 3 time Great Grandfather who served in the 2nd Pennsylvania Cavalry at that Battle. The rest is what they say is history.
His journeys have taken him to libraries, museums and battlefields from Virginia to Pennsylvania tracing his family history and those who fought in the Civil War for both the Union and the Confederacy. Andrew collected this information about his family during the Civil War for this website and to keep his family’s history alive for future generations.
Another hobby of Andrew’s is Civil War reenacting. After reading books on the topic and visiting battlefields, reenacting seemed like the natural direction to go. Reenacting makes him feel like he is in the shoes of his ancestors during the hard times of the Civil War.
